Chapter 14 & 18 (Managers & Press Agents):
ATPAM (Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers) get an increase in salary beginning Sept 1st. As previously negotiated, the new House Manager and Company Manager minimum salaries are now: $2,062.29/wk plus 8.5% vacation pay (paid weekly) for a total of $2,237.58 per week. Note that house (theater) managers and company managers have been paid the same minimum salaries for decades and are trained in both jobs as part of the union's 2 year apprentice program.Press Agents, as of Sept 1, will now receive a minimum of $2216.14 plus 8.5% vacation pay (paid weekly) for a total of $2,404.51 per week.Contact each General Manager and Press office individually to inquire about being sponsored as an apprentice. Most offices also hire interns and some hire union-paid Associates.
Chapter 5 & 10 (Marketing & Producing/Investing):
Summer, especially August and September are very slow months in terms of ticket sales. This is good for a show that wants less competition when it opens, but it's also bad if the show has no significant draw (superstar in the lead, newsworthy topic). Here is a list of anticipated shows due to open in the new 2016 fall season that technically began right after the Tony Awards in June.
